I haven't been deep into the League of Legends scene for a while now, but this clip left even me dumbfounded. Karthus, Sona, Mordekaiser, Yorick, and Olaf are all due newer variations of their Pentakill skins and since this new album is already looking to be darker, hopefully, they'll be even more metal-inspired than before. The premium image across this t-shirt sees a detailed print inspired by the League of Legends Pentakill band, the design sees the Valoran band members in a detailed design with the rock n roll hand sign and metal guitar in hand.
"League of Legends" is a carefully-played tactical game, very different from twitch-based games like "Call of Duty." It's brazen for a single player on any team to take down the entire opposing team, but it's a risky move that paid off twice yesterday for two now number one teams.
In 2014 the Riot label issued the band's first foray out of the video game realm, an eight-track collection of appropriately punishing songs titled Smite and Ignite that relied on the talents of session musicians, including vocalists Jorn Lande (Masterplan) and ZP Theart (Dragonforce).
Entirely under the mainstream radar, the band's new CGI video, Mortal Reminder, notched up more than 3m views in less than 48 hours after its release - and the new album, Grasp of the Undying, seems destined to be a huge success. The original in-game band is composed of Mordekaiser, Karthus, Olaf, Sona, and Yorick.
I really liked it. I do like metal so obviously I would but i'm surprised Riot actually did something metal not like some hard rock passed off as metal thing. We were able to chat exclusively with Lande over email and he told us about the making of the new album and how his Karthus persona has undergone a recent upgrade.
Pentakill is a line of skins in the League of Legends representing many familiar champions in the form of the Runeterra's world greatest Metal group. In 2014, a metal band called Pentakill came seemingly out of nowhere and landed its debut EP, Smite & Ignite, in the Billboard Top 40 and at No. 1 on the iTunes Metal and Rock charts.
An in-game heavy metal band from the massively popular multi-player online video game League of Legends, Pentakill operates somewhere between the opulent, fantasy-driven power metal of Dragonforce and the gimmicky, yet cleverly constructed inside metal of Dethklok.
Pentakill ranked is a virtual metal band within the game, and Karthus is not only a powerful warrior, but also the lead singer of the band. The remainder of the band features Karthus, Yorick, Sona, Olaf and Mordekaiser. One of those genres is metal, with an in-house band going by Pentakill producing an album a couple of years ago.
Update July 22, 2017: We didn't have to wait very long before getting to hear some of this new League of Legends album, as two singles from it are now up on YouTube. Now, taking a page out of Blizzard's infamous Elite Tauren Chieftain , it looks like Pentakill is set to become its own real-world band, with the "Smite and Ignite" album due out on June 3.
Riot's new skin has sent UK scene mum and catfish detective Rachel " SonaBoner " Dean into an excitable frenzy. Maybe the hair of their music reached you, and if not, right now you can download their albums and enjoy excellent music that born straight in the company Riot Games.
Billed as the fictional land of Valoran's most famous rock band, the group is fronted by the demonic Karthus, joined by guitarist Mordekaiser, keyboardist Sona, bass player Yorick, drummer Olaf, and recently added golden warrior goddess Kayle on vocals.
